It’s The Little Things
It really is the little things that make me so very happy. Yesterday was Mother’s Day and it was a nice day for me and my girls. I love seeing their smiles. They got me the most gorgeous custom photo moon lamp that had a picture of us three inside it, the lamp looks beautiful glowing on the side table in the evening.
Until my girls were about 10 I always made them write Thank You notes to anyone who gave them a gift. This is something my family never did. I found that it was important to do this because it instilled a sense of gratitude. Unfortunately, it did not stick with my girls. No matter how many times I
asked made them write out Thank You cards they decided not to continue it as they were older. Hopefully, when my first grandchild is born later this year my daughter will continue on with the tradition.
Today though, I want to tell you about the first contest I won as a blogger. It was a small contest, but a contest nonetheless and I am over the moon for winning.
I recently started following Eden Hensley Silverstein of The Road to a Good Life, on Instagram. She is mother to a young daughter named Gates and takes beautiful, insightful photos to share. Some of them are particularly inspiring, so that’s why it doesn’t come as a surprise to learn that she has a large following. In some cases, it can be a lot easier for people to gain more followers than what it is for others. Some are able to see a significant difference in their numbers every day, but for others, it could take months before they even notice that they have more followers. Thankfully I’ve heard that Instagram growth services like Nitreo, (learn more here) can help users to organically grow their profile if they want to become more popular on the platform. What a good idea. I’m not sure which one Eden did, but however she did it, it’s seemed to work in her favor. Right around the time I started following her she initiated a contest for anyone that could use a pick me up in honor of her daughter turning 2. She asked her followers to comment on her Instagram as to why they needed a pick me up. Bing had gifted Eden a @myolivebox, the perfect thing for paper lovers!
My comment looked like this
@edenhensley I could us a
puck pick me up because I work third shift and my time with my family is limited. I would also love to blog about it! #thanksbing
About a week later I got a Facebook message that I was a winner! I was officially a Snail Mail Suprise winner. This made me happy because I am one of the people on this earth that still loves to send letters and cards to my loved ones. Eden has no idea that this really made my day! It was the first contest I had entered as a blogger!
The snail mail she sent me is gorgeous and I am so thankful to have received it.
