imPRESS DIY Manicure

Ladies, have you ever wanted to get your nails done but just don’t have the time or maybe you don’t have the cash? Well fret no more. There is a simple DIY option using the imPRESS manicure.  The imPRESS manicure offers options for days and is quick and easy to use. If you don’t know how much I LOVE polish then you don’t really know me! This option is just another to add to my bag of tricks!

Pick Your Manicure

The first thing you have to do is decide what manicure you want to go with. Are you looking for a solid color or something with some sparkle? Perhaps you like some nail art or even nail bling. The point is that imPRESS manicure offers a wide variety of options for any occasion. I opted for a nude nail with a jeweled skull application. My daughter opted for a mauve with some glitter!

Apply Your Manicure

It takes just minutes for you to match the nail sizes with your nails and then prepare your nail for application. It is as easy as peeling off a small tab and then pressing the nail to your nail bed. You have to hold for just a few moments and then you can move on to the next one. That’s it! Once you have applied the imPRESS nails to your nails you are ready to show them off!

Overall imPRESSion

I have worn these before and have raved about them. There is simply no mess, no dry time, and most importantly, no damage to my natural nails. I am able to get a full 7-10 days out of them because my hands are not in water too much. I imagine that if your hands are washing dishes in water every day that they won’t last as long. They are just as easy to remove when you are ready. I just push another nail up under my imPRESS nail and they pop right off with NO DAMAGE to my nail.

The other wonderful thing about these is all of the options! There are solid sets and accent nail sets. There are glitter sets and nail art sets. If I had to offer one piece of advice to the imPRESS DIY Manicure team it would be to offer more styles like an almond tip or a rounded tip. I believe this would appeal to other age groups.

You should really visit their website and look at all the options! Comment below and tell me what your favorite set is!

The Hidden Gem KB Shimmer

Have you ever found a product that you wished you’d known about since it’s inception? I just found that in KB Shimmer. I can’t quite remember how I got connected with their PR rep but I am so happy that I did. This company has a humble beginning and is here to stay!

KB Shimmer actually started with bath and body products and has grown to include a gorgeous nail polish selection. I honestly want them all but then again I am a confessed nail polish hoarder. I didn’t get to try any of the bath products but I was able to sample three different polishes from the KB Shimmer line.

You get a bonus from reading this post. I am also sharing my at home manicure. I want you to have a manicure that last at least seven days just like mine. If you are anything like me you work eight hours a day and then come home to wash dishes and do other tasks around the house. This can cause most manicures to start chipping within days of application. With my manicure steps you can realistically get five to seven days out of your manicure.

1. Remove old polish with any brand of nail polish remover.
2. Wash hands to remove any residue from polish remover, then dry fingertips thoroughly.
3. Gently use a buffer to take the shine off of the nails.
4. Use a cuticle pusher to push cuticles back and remove any excess buffing residue.
5. Apply Orly Bonder as a basecoat.
6. Apply two coats of KB Shimmer nail polish to each finger tip.
7. Apply Orly Sec N Dry as a top coat
8. Allow a couple of moments to dry

The KB Shimmer polishes I tried were just right for me and were very true to the color. The formula was not too thick or thin. The bottles are .5 fluid ounces and the application brush allows for a smooth application. I received three colors in my package and two to those had glitter. My favorite is called Toast-ess with the Mostess. It has large chunks of glitter. ALL THE GLITTER! It is so pretty and can be worn as a double coat of polish or as a single top coat over another color which is what I did. My second color is called You Autumn Know and I had always steered away from these types of polish because I was always unsure. I am now very much in love with these with a white base. This one has glitter in red, burgundy, yellow, and brown. The final color I go to try was Shade Shifter. This one I would describe as iridescent and the colors shift from cyan, to blue, to red orange, to purple.

One look at the KB Shimmer website and you will be as hooked as I am.
