You Can’t Handle The Truth

That’s right, YOU, can’t handle the truth.

We have all had that moment when we read someone’s post or look at their photos on Facebook and think ” I wish that was me”.

Don’t lie. We all have a handful of friends that post about EVERY flipping amazing trip they take. It makes us INSANELY jealous because either we don’t have the funds or we just can’t get away because of work or whatnot.

I have been spending less and less time on Facebook for this reason in particular. I find my little green monster creeping up because of all the wonderful travel photos I see, not to mention all of the political and religious crap. Those two subjects will have their own post eventually, but I digress. I like many posts but comment on very little. I stay out of trouble that way.

Snickers knows you can’t handle the truth.

Here it is, that truth that YOU can’t handle.

We  can create our happiness.

I know. I didn’t realize I had such words of wisdom either. This, my friends, is the single most important thing I have learned in my wise 29 39  years.

I leave you with this; when you are looking at the posts of friends and wishing you could do the same, remember what matters most to you and CREATE YOUR HAPPINESS!

I have included a list of my guilty pleasures that help me create my happiness! Enjoy!

  1. Getting up early and sitting in silence while the rest of the house sleeps. I listen to the birds chirp and watch my dogs take naps even though they just woke up.
  2. Enjoying a REALLY great cup of coffee. It doesn’t have to be one that I paid for. It can be right from my Keurig and have a nice creamer.
  3. SHOPPING, SLEEP, SEX, in that exact order. All make me one happy lady.
  4. Laughter. It can be at my expense or the expense of someone else. I don’t care as long as I laugh.
  5. Seeing KARMA in action. I have had too many crappy things happen to me to not enjoy this in action.

This is not a complete list but you get the idea. I choose to create my happiness.

Some things that should make me happy but I choose to ignore are cooking, having a clean house (it means I cleaned), and a great pair of shoes.

What makes you happy?

Setting Things In Motion

I recently got some excited news that will set things in motion and have me nervous.  It’s exciting because it’s going to be a new experience for me. This experience will allow me to leave my comfort zone and learn some amazing new things. I am nervous because I will be meeting new people and again, leaving my comfort zone.

If you didn’t know already, I am working to make my blog BETTER. By better I mean I want readers to look forward to my posts. I want to develop it so I can eventually make money with it. It is no where near where it needs to be for that opportunity. I believe that it will eventually get there but I get impatient sometimes. I know that I can’t give up.

Quote from the play Midsummer Night’s Dream

So this leads me to my exciting news.

I was just invited to an Arizona Blogger Meet-up! Words cannot describe how excited I am to meet other bloggers close to me. This means that I will be in the presence of more experienced bloggers that can give me tips and help me improve. I am jumping up and down right now! Not literally (that would be a disaster) but you get my drift. These women know what it takes to develop a blog that readers looks forward to.

Something that makes me even more excited is that there is a theme for the event. It is A Midsummer Night’s Dream. We were encouraged to wear dresses and bring pillows to sit on. This means I get to go shopping and you know how much I love that. We were also encouraged to come wearing a floral crown. This means a craft day for me! I am going to make my own and make sure it has SUNFLOWERS on it!

The invite also mentioned passing out business cards. I have not put much thought into having business cards as a blogger but it does make sense for events like this. Now I get to design my business card and get ready to hand them out at the event.

The thing that I am most nervous about is that we get to pitch our blogs to the group. WHAT? Let me tell you what I have to pitch…

1. I don’t have a niche.

2. I have one follower. She is a friend from junior high. Thank you Nova Taylor.

3. I don’t have people that look forward to reading my blog. My highest numbers are around 30 and that was for one day only.

DREAD! WTH am I going to pitch? PLEASE HELP ME!

The bottom line is that I am looking forward to setting things in motion and getting feedback with this event but I am not looking forward to my pitch.

What do YOU think I should say about my blog?
