The Hidden Gem KB Shimmer

Have you ever found a product that you wished you’d known about since it’s inception? I just found that in KB Shimmer. I can’t quite remember how I got connected with their PR rep but I am so happy that I did. This company has a humble beginning and is here to stay!

KB Shimmer actually started with bath and body products and has grown to include a gorgeous nail polish selection. I honestly want them all but then again I am a confessed nail polish hoarder. I didn’t get to try any of the bath products but I was able to sample three different polishes from the KB Shimmer line.

You get a bonus from reading this post. I am also sharing my at home manicure. I want you to have a manicure that last at least seven days just like mine. If you are anything like me you work eight hours a day and then come home to wash dishes and do other tasks around the house. This can cause most manicures to start chipping within days of application. With my manicure steps you can realistically get five to seven days out of your manicure.

1. Remove old polish with any brand of nail polish remover.
2. Wash hands to remove any residue from polish remover, then dry fingertips thoroughly.
3. Gently use a buffer to take the shine off of the nails.
4. Use a cuticle pusher to push cuticles back and remove any excess buffing residue.
5. Apply Orly Bonder as a basecoat.
6. Apply two coats of KB Shimmer nail polish to each finger tip.
7. Apply Orly Sec N Dry as a top coat
8. Allow a couple of moments to dry

The KB Shimmer polishes I tried were just right for me and were very true to the color. The formula was not too thick or thin. The bottles are .5 fluid ounces and the application brush allows for a smooth application. I received three colors in my package and two to those had glitter. My favorite is called Toast-ess with the Mostess. It has large chunks of glitter. ALL THE GLITTER! It is so pretty and can be worn as a double coat of polish or as a single top coat over another color which is what I did. My second color is called You Autumn Know and I had always steered away from these types of polish because I was always unsure. I am now very much in love with these with a white base. This one has glitter in red, burgundy, yellow, and brown. The final color I go to try was Shade Shifter. This one I would describe as iridescent and the colors shift from cyan, to blue, to red orange, to purple.

One look at the KB Shimmer website and you will be as hooked as I am.
